Overview
You can search for a specific device in the Devices Table by various character strings. For example, you can type part of the owner’s email address, part of the Device ID, or one of the device’s identifying tags in the Search bar. However, it is also possible to assign a distinct label to a device to make it easier to locate. We’ll see how naming a device can help you retrieve it in the Devices Table.
Editing the Device Label
To name a device by changing its label:
1. Click on Devices in the sidebar menu to open the Devices Table.
2. Type part of the Device ID in the Search bar to locate the device.
3. Click on the Edit Label icon in the Label column to assign a label to the device.
4. Type a unique name in the Label textbox and click Save Changes.
5. After naming a device, you can now use the unique name to locate the device quickly, by just typing part of the device label in the Search bar:
Deleting a Device Label
Using the Edit Label option, you can also delete a device label.
To delete a device label:
1. Go to the device’s row in the Devices Table, and click on the Edit Label icon:
2. Delete the device’s label in the textbox and click Save Changes.
The device will now have no label.
